Bank DKI Keeps Pushing Inclusion and Financial Literacy

We also collaborate with the Education Agency to create a Simpanan Pelajar account

Bank DKI continues to play an active role in inviting the public to be smarter in managing their finances.

Together with the Financial Services Authority (OJK), Bank DKI participates in the Simpanan Pelajar program (Student Savings) which is available in conventional and Sharia schemes under the product name Tabungan SimPel iB.

It is recorded that there are more than 819,000 students who have the Tabungan Simpel savings product and Bank DKI Monas Tabungan Pelajar (student savings) until August 22, 2022 with a nominal deposit of more than Rp 93 billion.

Bank DKI Secretary Herry Djufraini said it was Bank DKI's commitment to encourage a culture of saving from an early age, as well as a form of implementing financial literacy and inclusion.

This figure was achieved thanks to Bank DKI's efforts which consistently continues to promote the Satu Rekening Satu Pelajar program (One Account One Student) to public and private schools in Jakarta.

"We also collaborate with the Education Agency to create a Simpanan Pelajar account and educational activities 'Let's Save with SimPel Bank DKI' for students," he expressed, Wednesday (8/24).

He revealed that OJK together with the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbud Ristek), as well as the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) and the banking industry encouraged the improvement of financial literacy and inclusion for students through a series of Indonesian Children's Achievements or Creations.

Creation itself is part of the Satu Rekening Satu Pelajar or Kejar program which will be held throughout August 2021 throughout Indonesia.

"These activities include 504 activities, webinars, and competitions for students followed by account opening, financial education, and socialization of the Kejar program," he expressed.

Besides participating in the Tabungan Simpel program (Simple Savings), Bank DKI is also known as a bank that is close to the world of education, including as a bank that distributes Jakarta Smart and Jakarta Superior Student cards.

They are also trusted to be the managers of the School Operational Assistance (BOS) and Education Operational Assistance (BOP) funds.

Together with the Education Agency, they have developed an Education Accountability Information System for School Operational Assistance-Education Operational Assistance (SIAP BOS BOP) based on a Cash Management System (CMS). It is a form of increasing accountability in financial management in the education sector in Jakarta.

"Bank DKI is trusted to manage the Distribution of Supplementary Food Provision Funds to the Education Unit/PMT-AS. This is an implementation of the Gubernatorial Regulation number 9/2019 on the Provision of Supplementary Food for School Children in Education Units," he explained.

Besides savings, Simple is intended for students. Bank DKI also has a Monas savings account which is intended for customers to save routinely every month in a fixed amount for a certain period of time.

The benefits are starting from interest rates above the regular savings interest rate, free of administration fees, low auto debit monthly deposits starting from Rp 100,000 and can be used for education, vacation, tax payments, weddings, and so forth.

He added that the current digital era requires Bank DKI to be more adaptive in meeting the expectations of customers and society.

Therefore, the bank had presented New JakOne Mobile with a more attractive and user friendly UI/UX display in meeting customer expectations, especially the millennial generation.

“Currently, New JakOne Mobile can also be used by new customers to open a savings account online via a smartphone without having to go to a Bank DKI branch office," he added.
